Another opportunity is being given to property owners who failed to take advantage of the previous favorable regulation for declaring the real surfaces of their properties to the municipalities, following a proposal by the country's Mayors at the recent KEDE conference. The aim of the new regulation is to submit correct information to determine the surface or the use of the property in order to calculate taxes-fees-contributions to the Municipality in a manner favorable to taxpayers. The benefits of timely submission of declarations on the platform are exemption from fines or retroactive charges until 31/12/2019 in accordance with the applicable provisions. With a fine of 20% on the amount resulting from the difference in square meters, the fees corresponding to the correct square meters are paid, calculated from 1/1/2020 to the date of submission of the electronic declaration. It is worth noting that in case of non-submission or inaccuracy of the declaration and in combination with the right of the municipalities to collect fees dating back to previous years, the provisions in force will be applied.
