AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM OF GREECE 2014-2020

Measure 19: "Local development with the initiative of local communities (CLLD) - LEADER" PAA 2014-2020 - sub-measure 19.2: "Support for the implementation of actions of local development strategies with the initiative of local communities (CLLD/LEADER)"

In the framework of the implementation of the CLLD/LEADER Local Program of Heraklion Prefecture, the Local Action Group (LAG) of the Development Heraklion AAE OTA invites interested parties (natural or legal persons under private law) to express their interest in joining the program. The area of application of the actions, to which this invitation refers, is the area of intervention of the CLLD/LEADER Local Program of Heraklion of the LAG, as it is described in detail in the informative guide.
The co-financed public expenditure (European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development – EAFRD & National resources – Ministry of Rural Development and Food), available for the inclusion of operations with this call, amounts to an indicative amount of €2,950,000.00 for the following sub-actions:

indicatively include the following:

19.2.2.2: Reinforcement of investments in the processing, marketing and/or development of agricultural products resulting in a non-agricultural product to serve specific objectives of the local strategy.

Through the sub-action it is sought:

  • the processing – standardization of quality agricultural products
  • the strengthening of the processing of organic products
  • the support of businesses standardizing products in individual packaging.
  • the support of businesses that aim to process agricultural residues for reasons of environmental protection
  • the creation of visitable areas for tasting/testing products within businesses.

19.2.2.3: Reinforcement of investments in the tourism sector in order to serve specific objectives of the local strategy.

Through the sub-action it is sought:

1. The creation, modernization or expansion of integrated infrastructures for overnight stays, in combination with the development of other activities.

2. The establishment, expansion and modernization of other tourist businesses that contribute to the development of alternative forms of tourism (rural tourism, marine tourism, culinary tourism, health and wellness tourism).

19.2.2.4: Reinforcement of investments in the processing, marketing and/or development of agricultural products resulting in a non-agricultural product to serve specific objectives of the local strategy

Through the sub-action, the establishment, modernization and expansion of small crafts - workshops can be strengthened in the sectors (indicatively):

  • clothing and other textiles, footwear
  • of metal, stone, wood and leather processing to manufacture products
  • of papermaking and the manufacture of paper products
  • folk art (ceramics, textiles, silversmithing - goldsmithing, woodcarving, cutlery, etc.).
  • the manufacture of machinery and equipment related to agricultural activities
  • the manufacture of products belonging to the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) sector (manufacture of jewelry, toys, musical instruments, etc.)
  • the creation of visitable demonstration areas / monitoring of the production of folk art items (ceramics, hagiography, mosaics, jewelry, musical instruments, etc.)
  • food products after the first processing (traditional ovens, confectionery workshops, etc.)

19.2.2.5: Reinforcement of investments in the processing, marketing and/or development of agricultural products resulting in a non-agricultural product to serve specific objectives of the local strategy

Through sub-action they can be strengthened:

1. companies providing services in the field of Cultural Creative Industries (CCI) and as a priority in the sectors:

  • of printing, publishing and advertising
  • of specialized design (design of spaces, products, packaging, textiles, etc.)
  • cultural education (schools of dance, music, painting, etc.).
  • of the performing arts (actors, dancers, troupes, musical groups, etc.) and artistic creation (painters, painters, conservators of works of art, etc.)
  • of the photo.
  • of recording and music publications.
  1. companies providing services of a social-welfare nature aimed at population groups such as infants, children, the elderly, the disabled. Priority will be given to the following businesses:
    nurseries / kindergartens, children's creative work areas
  • visiting and support services for the elderly / PWD
  • care centers for the elderly / disabled.

19.2.3.1: Reinforcement of investments in the processing, marketing and/or development of agricultural products resulting in a non-agricultural product to serve specific objectives of the local strategy

Through the sub-action it is sought:

  • processing – standardization of quality agricultural products
  • the strengthening of the processing of organic products.
  • the support of businesses standardizing products in individual packaging
  • the operation of the sector's enterprises and the adaptation of their production to international quality standards
  • the creation of visitable areas for tasting agricultural products within manufacturing companies (wine, oil, raki, etc.).

19.2.3.3: Reinforcement of investments in the processing, marketing and/or development of agricultural products resulting in a non-agricultural product to serve specific objectives of the local strategy

Through the sub-action it is sought:

1. The creation or expansion of integrated infrastructures for overnight accommodation, in combination with the development of other activities.

2. The establishment or expansion of other tourist businesses that contribute to the development of alternative forms of tourism (rural tourism, marine tourism, culinary tourism, health and wellness tourism).

19.2.3.4: Reinforcement of investments in the processing, marketing and/or development of agricultural products resulting in a non-agricultural product to serve specific objectives of the local strategy

Indicatively, through the sub-action, the establishment and modernization of small crafts - workshops can be strengthened in the sectors (indicatively):

  • clothing and other textiles, footwear

Beneficiaries for all sub-actions can be:

  • Beneficiaries can be natural or legal persons, in accordance with the eligibility set out in the Local Action Group (LAG) local program.

Applications for funding and companies under incorporation are accepted.

Beneficiaries should be active or have been active in eligible fields of activity (KAD), which do not conflict with this.

The total budget of each application for support of a potential beneficiary cannot exceed €600,000 for operations related to infrastructure and/or equipment and €100,000 for operations related to intangible actions.
To cover the private participation, the potential beneficiary of the aid can use own resources (own participation) and/or a loan and/or a combination thereof.
