On Monday, May 10, it is expected that the platform for catering businesses to submit applications to their subsidy program for funds related to the purchase of raw materials for their restart will be activated.
The total amount amounts to 330 million euros and according to representatives of the government, one in two (approximately 34,000) businesses in the sector are expected to be strengthened. According to journalistic information, the measure concerns all businesses, even those operating with the franchise method. The maximum amount of aid is set at 7% of the total turnover of 2019, while it cannot exceed 100,000 euros and the total amount will be non-refundable and non-confiscatable.
Businesses that:
show a decrease in annual turnover 2020 compared to 2019 greater than or equal to 30%
be liable to submit periodic VAT returns.
for businesses established within 2019, an equal number of operating days is calculated for the drop in turnover.
catering businesses that started in 2019 but had no revenue during the year will automatically enter the action.
businesses that opened in 2020 will automatically enter the action.
The applications will be submitted through the Information System of State Aids (PSKE) of the Ministry of Development and Investments at the address www.ependyseis.gr while the applications will be accepted until July 31, 2021 with the first disbursements expected, if the platform opens next Monday, at the end of May. Please note that the subsidy amount for each business cannot exceed 70% of the sum of the amounts of Codes 361, 363 and 364 of the 2021 periodic VAT declarations.
Also, it cannot exceed 100% of the sum of the amounts listed in Code 367 of the 2021 periodic VAT declarations. Finally, businesses must use up the grant by 31-12-2021. The check will be based on the 2021 periodic VAT returns and the declared expenses.
