The new "Save - Autonomy" includes a subsidy that can reach 85% of the total cost of the works and cover up to 50,000 euros.
According to the instructions of the Ministry of Finance, a residence, in order to be considered eligible for "Save - Autonomy", must:
- It is used as a main residence, as can be seen from E1.
- It exists legally.
- It has been classified based on the Energy Performance Certificate (PEA), which has been issued after 26/11/2017, in a category lower than or equal to C.
- It has not been deemed to be demolished.
- The interventions according to the PEAs that will be issued before and after their implementation should lead to the improvement of the ranking by at least 3 levels.
What interventions does it cover?
- Replacement of window frames with mandatory recycling of the old ones and the possibility of replacing glass panes in buildings protected or of historical value or of special architecture.
- Installation/replacement of thermal insulation of the shell: Eligible interventions are also considered any small-scale works to support the thermal insulation (cracks, sealings).
- Heating-cooling system upgrade: Removing oil burners and related tanks is also considered an eligible intervention.
Eligibility for oil burners is removed.
Eligibility for energy fireplaces in Athens and Thessaloniki is abolished. - Domestic Hot Water System using RES: Mandatory installation in cases where it does not exist.
For energy autonomy the subsidized interventions include:
- Power generation systems from RES: Eligible intervention is the installation of photovoltaics only to cover the demand (net metering).
- Storage systems: Eligible only as a complementary intervention in the installation of a new photovoltaic plant.
- Electric vehicle charging infrastructures: Only devices that are suitable, based on ELOT standards, and intended for charging electric vehicles in a domestic environment are eligible.
- The eligible Smart Home interventions are:
Digital systems and technologies that contribute to energy savings.
Only interventions that adjust and maintain energy consumption (appliances, lighting, heating, hot water, etc.) at the levels chosen by users with the aim of saving energy and/or record and process energy consumption data and/or adjust and maintain shading levels.
